So I was walking across my campus to our local Starbucks to study for the day and I saw an act of kindness that made me remember that there are good people in this world.

Standing in the middle of the street was an elderly woman who looked to be homeless and a bit confused. A bus had already honked its horn at her and drove around her. I stared at her, a little confused as to what she was doing. Then I noticed a guy that looked about my age go up to her, talk to her for a second and then loop is arm through hers and help her onto the sidewalk. He continued to talk to her, pointing in a  certain direction and walked with her a little bit until she got her bearings. The guy then proceeded to walk across the street in the opposite direction and go about his day. I walked away from that spot smiling and a bit happier.

I hope that guy knows that his act of kindness did not go unnoticed. I honestly can’t say that I might have done the same thing, but I am glad that someone did. I am glad that someone did not hesitate in helping her. There are good people in the world, I guess I just have to remember that and to try and be one of those good people.
